December 18 Prayer Update

Living as Christ Among the Homeless

Thank you for praying for the outreach this last Saturday. We thank God for allowing us to tangibly serve the homeless community by serving them fresh coffee on a cold morning; providing recently-donated coats; and continuing to build trust and relationship with our homeless friends.

None of these things is insignificant. Every time we visit we listen, pray, and provide for some of their tangible needs; and in doing so, we build trust. Without this growing trust, their willingness to talk about life in Jesus is greatly hindered.

None of this is a fast process. But just as Jesus is patient, "not wanting anyone to parish," we are patiently loving them and sharing Gospel truth with them....week after week....month after month....year after year.

The temperatures Saturday morning hovered around 40 degrees. Our friends were awakened by the smell of fresh, hot coffee and the loving faces of our volunteers.

As we mark our last outreach for 2021, we thank God for the many opportunities He has given us to share Christ with the homeless community this year, and to deepen many long-term relationships with them We praise Him for our volunteers, for His provision, and most of all, for how He is revealing Himself to our homeless friends.

We are very excited for all God has in store for our ministry in 2022. When the time is right, we still intend to acquire a facility to house bible studies, biblical addiction counseling, and increased services to our homeless friends. To join one of our outreaches in 2022 or to make lunches,

Volunteers Pat and Jess foster friendship and trust as they celebrate a new puppy with our homeless friend. Ordinary conversations like these open the way for us to share the Gospel.
