Nov 2nd Prayer Update

The LORD in near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
— Psalm 34:18-19

We are thankful that we have the freedom to share the gospel without fear and share it openly to the homeless of our area. We had a good turnout of volunteers who were willing to come out despite the rain the night before and the possibility of muddy conditions. We trust that God's word will not return void and we ask that the Lord would bless our efforts with many who would follow the Lord in repentance and faith. Our teams handed out 3 Spanish Bibles, 14 English Bibles, and 2 addiction books, "Cross talking."

Our team ventured again into Vallejo, where the homeless population is rather large, and conversed with Kim (white hoodie). She shared with us that it is her desire to become a nurse.  Our volunteer Pat talked with Kim for a while and was amazed by her story. She also told our team that she hasn't been homeless long. When Pat transitioned to a gospel conversation, Kim told our team that she had never heard of God or Jesus. This opened up a conversation to introduce Kim to God, Jesus, and the Bible. They offered her a Bible, taught her how to read it and how to use the study notes. They also directed her to start in the book of John. Join us in prayer that Kim will read the Bible that we provided to her and God would give her understanding.

We've had an ongoing relationship with Jarrett for more than 12 years. He shared a lot about his life with us today and we were able to continue our gospel conversations. He struggles with the concept that salvation is a free gift to those who repent and believe. He struggles with not feeling worthy of salvation and that he needs to do something to deserve that free gift.  Please pray that we have the opportunity to schedule an RV Bible study with Jarrett and spend more extended time reading God's word with him and that God would use that to bring understanding and faith.

Our Concord team spent some time talking with Roy, Vivian and Fransisco and they had some mixed reactions. We are thankful that our blessing bags contain a gospel tract so regardless of a person's openness to hearing the gospel presentation, we pray that in a quiet moment they will read and have a softened heart to accept the truth.

Our team had the privilege of praying for Sam. He has experienced a lot of tragedy and loss; the death of some family members, and the theft of this stuff.  He had a lot on his heart and cried as he shared his grief with us.  We turned to scripture to show him how Jesus has born our sorrows and our grief and he is able to comfort the brokenhearted. He accepted a Bible and we prayed with him. We hope that he can find his ultimate comfort and peace in God.

DeAndre shared that he is trying to get custody of his 4-year-old son and that the mother of his child kicked him out which is why is he now homeless. He was quite depressed as we spoke with him and we tried to offer him encouragement, and prayer. He didn't want prayer at first but as we continued to talk with him he came around and accepted prayer. He specifically asked for prayer for employment.

Please pray for these individuals who took Bibles or previously received a Bible. We ask that you pray that they would read the Bibles provided.
