May 8 2021 Prayer Update

Thank you for continuing to pray for spiritual fruit and salvation in the homeless in the 680 Corridor

This Saturday our 3 teams all agree that we feel like those who scatter seeds. We share the gospel with many and offer the Word of the Lord, trusting God for fruit in some, but knowing we might not see it ourselves! May the harvest be plentiful!

Our East Concord team (above) visited our regular spot at the bridges under the 680 North of the Airport. There they saw some old friends including Christian, and were able to continue pick up again gospel conversations started on previous visits. Some were more open than others, but many bibles were provided and the gospel boldly shared, along with our supplies.

Our East Concord team were able to have a number of substantial gospel conversations. Pray for Ben at Concord’s Baldwin Park who claimed to believe in God but not in his need for a savior. Pray he would consider our claims that Jesus is the only way to heaven.

Pray for Jim (above left) who says he is trying to do enough good in his life to earn his way to heaven. We had a pleasant conversation about the impossibility of meriting a position in heaven by our own works, and our need to confess complete dependence upon Jesus, since we can only enter heaven by His righteousness.

We were also able to provide a bible and pray for the man above, who was lonely and very glad to talk and share about Jesus as he say shirtless by the freeway in Pleasant Hill.

Our Martinez team started their day by visiting the organized homeless camp at the Martinez Waterfront Park. We had the opportunity to meet about 10 people. The names of some of our new friends are Dicky, Lisa Marie, Jeff, Antoine, Chrystal, Bob and Ron. We provided hot coffee, lunches and blessing bags. Most of those we encountered were open to hearing about Jesus.

Downtown we met Joe and Ray. Both gentlemen were quite intoxicated. We talked very frankly about drinking and their need for Jesus. We really hope to be able to continue a conversation with him the next time we’re in Martinez.

Please remember each of the people we met in your prayers, for God to continue His amazing saving work in each of them.
