February 1st Prayer Update
“We can not step out of our sinfulness. We need more than love and encouragement, information, and insight. We need rescue. Anything less will not address what is really wrong with us.”
Save the date for our third annual Hope680 Walkathon. This year we'll be hosting the Walkathon on April 26th in a new location, at the Lafayette Reservoir. We are excited to be able to continue to grow this event and make it even more stroller-friendly than in past years. Registration will open on March 1st.
We had a great outreach on February 1st despite the rain. We are regularly humbled to have faithful volunteers who venture out with us in wet and muddy conditions. These are truly saints with great love and compassion for the lost. It's clear they have the desire to be obedient to God's call on their lives to share the gospel. We continue to pray that the homeless we encounter have their hearts likewise opened to God's gracious offer of salvation. Thanks to many of you as well who generously provide lunches, Bibles and blessing bag supplies that we distribute.
In Concord, our team met Matt who was raised in a family with a Catholic and Christian Science background. He shared his doubts on the authority and accuracy of the Bible, along with some questions on the existence of God and the creation account. Our team shared the gospel with him and he listened. He lost his car which caused him to lose his job and he is now newly homeless. He was previously a carpenter.
We are grateful when we are provided with a Spanish speaker to join an outreach. This helps us to communicate with those we meet who only speak Spanish. Here, Peter was able to share and pray with Joelle and Carlos. Please pray with us for God to continue to supply our teams with those who have a passion for sharing the gospel in Spanish.
Even with the inclement weather, our Vallejo team were thankful to have many conversations and hand out all of our supplies. The team had more significant interactions with Jay, Glen, Devon, Nina, Uri, Jay, Randy, Emmerson, Herb, and AJ. Several of the folks in Vallejo were hoping to secure better shelter, especially due to the bad weather. Our ministry desires to always use discernment and not enable homelessness but rather show Christ-like compassion to those in need.
We spoke at length with Emmerson in a prior outreach, and were thankful to connect with him again. He told our team he has been reading the book of John. The team prayed with him once again.
Our Martinez team found that because of the rain, the homeless in the park had gathered under a shelter in a picnic area. This allowed our team to have more lengthy conversations with several individuals. We spoke with Nicole, Jim, and Lee. We were able to pray after sharing the gospel with them for 15-20 minutes. On the right our volunteer Pat ministered to Nicole. Please pray with us that the gospel conversation found good soil with Nicole.
Please pray for these individuals would read the Bibles they received.

We continue to pray for those who might be able to contribute a small additional monthly gift of $25 or $50 a month to help with ongoing Hope680 expenses, including our ministry supplies, offices, and RV maintenance. We are trusting God to continue to provide through you!
FYI Our Executive Staff and Leaders (including Toby and all team leaders) are unpaid volunteers - all donations go 100% towards the running of Hope680, including administrative contractors, our facilities, and RV maintenance costs, as well as ministry supplies.
