How to get started…

Easy Sign up:

1) Who should Register? If your whole family intends to walk, choose a main point person to register an account. That’s the account you can use to gather donations. A family RSVP box is part of that registration process.

2) Click ‘Register as a Walker’ (REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED) and create your 'Fundraise Up’ page  (Registration opens Feb 1st! Please register before Feb 24th March 1st so we can get an accurate count for breakfast)

3) Contact friends and family for support! Spread the Word - invite a friend to be a walker with you! We have a printable flier available HERE

4) Mark March 9th on your Calendar to come join us for the Big Day!

Day of Walk

1) Arrive at the Walk location by 8:30 AM and Check in at the Registration Table (bring your signed participation waiver)

2) Enjoy the coffee and fellowship of other supporters until 9:00 AM when our walk will begin

3) Walk the pre-marked two-mile course, grab a hot cup of coffee, and enjoy knowing that we have raised money for gospel work

If you are unable to join us on the day of the Walk or would rather walk at home, your pledges will still make a HUGE difference in the lives of others! We truly appreciate your participation. The Walk-a-thon helps raise funds so we can continue to offer gospel hope and practical help to the homeless in the 680 corridor through our ministry. Thank you for your partnership!

FAQs

“What if I can’t make it to walk day?”

You can still be a registered walker even if you're not available on walk day. You can still raise donations and even complete a 2-mile walk on your own time in support of our ministry! We greatly appreciate the support!

“How do I see my fundraising progress?”

When you initially registered as a walker you should have received an email titled ‘Thank you for registering as a Walkathon Walker!’ In that email click the blue button that says ‘Open my Fundraiser'. That will take you to the list of all donations that have been recorded towards your walk. Not all donations appear immediately, so be patient. Your fundraiser numbers update after the funds are received, depending on the bank, this may take several business days.

“How do I register my whole family?”

You only need to create a donation account for one representative or head of household. Then, you can choose a family last name for your walk profile. Within the registration process, there is a place to indicate how many are in your group so we will have an accurate headcount for breakfast. (See the tutorial video linked below for a walk-through on how this can be done)

“Can I start a fundraiser as part of a team?”

YES! You just need a point person. The point person should name their fundraiser with a group display name. Once registration is complete, a link will be available at the bottom of their welcome email, “Invite New Members using this Link.” When your potential team members use that link they will see a place to ‘Join this team.’ Once the email address has been verified then they will be prompted to enter their personal information but all collected donations will go to the team total.

“Who do I ask to sponsor me?”

Everyone you know! Co-workers, boss, parents, siblings, cousins, (even out of town family!) friends at church, clubs, neighbors, etc. Try using your Facebook page! You will be amazed at how many people say ‘YES!”

“Do I have to collect the money?”

Your custom Fundraise Up online page makes it easy to handle the money issue. Simply direct your supporters to your personalized page and they can give online.

“What if someone wants to write me a check?”

Please have them make it out to “Hope680” and write your name in the memo line so we can attribute their check to the correct account.

“What if someone gives me cash”

Please take down the full name and address of the person donating the money so we can provide a receipt for their taxes.

“When is the registration deadline?”

Registration is now Closed. We have our final head count for breakfast submitted.
