Amazing gospel conversations. Hungry hearts. What’s next?

Please praise God with us for the 30+ substantial gospel conversations our three Hope680 teams were able to have yesterday, by His grace, with homeless in Pleasant Hill, Concord and Martinez.

We have so many stories to share, but this time I’d like to focus on two specific conversations because they are prime examples of how I believe God is calling Hope680 to expand the scope of our ministry, and answer the question: ‘what’s next’?

Meet Stu and Melanie

Stu and Melanie (sitting by the Concord Park n Shop) shared that they just got engaged 2 days ago! Both of them recently came out of jail for alcohol related crimes. After discussing the hope of the gospel with them and praying, Stu shared that he’s been in and out of 12-step programs, but just cannot overcome his addiction to methamphetamine - he keeps falling back into sin. Melanie is angry at God and would prefer to do life in her own strength. Both Stu and Melanie were glad to receive bibles and agreed to read the book of John.

Stu and Melanie are a PERFECT example of folks who desperately need a solid biblical counseling program to overcome addiction in God’s strength with the truth of scripture. Stu especially wants to change, he says he believes in God, but he doesn’t have the knowledge, tools or community help to understand how. But we believe the gospel can change that!

Will you please pray with us for the formation of a biblical counseling ministry for addicts through Hope680 in the next 6-9 months? We need at least 3 additional counselors to make this happen!

Meet Tom and Gigi

We’ve met Tom before (near the Hyatt hotel in Pleasant Hill), but this time we were able to meet his friend Gigi also, for the first time. These sweet folks were so eager to discuss the Lord, and happy to receive prayer and bibles. Gigi has various sickness including ovarian cancer. She lives in a tent near DSW. When we offered Gigi a bible she asked “could someone sit down and explain it to me?” Of course we’d love to do that!

Please pray for $1,500 a month additional finances for us to open a facility in the next 6-9 months to provide a safe place to start regular bible studies with the homeless?

We had so many other wonderful conversations too with people open and hungry for the Lord. We are so excited and thankful for him to use us to do His work. And we are so eager to see the work grow so that we can offer bible studies, biblical counseling and other services regularly in a safe environment.

Please prayerfully consider starting or increasing giving monthly to Hope680 to enable us to offer these services even this year!

Thank you so much for praying, and supporting our gospel work. To God be the glory!
